Author Greg Thompson

The Forward, written by Matt Larsen, covers the history of the Army's new program and also details all of the arts and people who contributed to its foundation. Two TBA Instructors, Khun Khru Greg Nelson and Khun Khru Dave Rogers are credited, along with well known Instructor, Manu Ntoh, for contributing to the Thai Boxing curriculum.

"I am extremely honored to be associated with this effort to re-educate the American Soldier on a Modern Combatives approach and would encourage all of you to "run out and buy this book", and help spread the word about what is sure to become, in the future when all of these enlisted men reintegrate into the civilian ranks, the next wave of Martial science, which all of the Gyms and Martial Art Schools will in some way or another, become influenced for years to come by this endeavor."     Khun Khru Dave Rogers

Book Description
One of the highest-ranking instructors for the U.S. Army and Special Forces demonstrates the critical skills of hand-to-hand combat in this training manual. When troops on the modern battlefield are forced to fight without weapons, they fall back on many of the expert techniques made accessible here for martial art students of all levels. Modern clinching, effective striking, and grappling techniques are detailed, along with weapon takeaway strategies and defenses against opponents with knives. The step-by-step photos and thoroughly detailed movements are intended not only to train combat troops but also to empower citizens to protect themselves in dangerous situations.
